Hey, I’m Mareike.
I am a freelance artist from Germany and my creative heart beats for abstract art and nature photography.
It all started with abstract graphics, which back in 2012 were still very colorful and geometric. Since then I have developed further. Many trips to Scandinavia in particular influenced my style, and so my artworks became softer, more organic and gentler in terms of colors. For the past year and a half I have also been painting larger pictures on canvas, whereas before I mainly painted on paper.
My photographs live from special lighting moods and simple, minimalist compositions, which I always find particularly fascinating in nature. The process of taking photographs, being outside in nature, is an important balance and a kind of meditation for me.
My artworks are available as wall art online in shops worldwide (take a look here) and were published in many interior magazines like ELLE Decoration, Schöner Wohnen, VTwonen and many more. Selected work can also be found at IKEA.
